Struggling with adult acne for over ten years and finally finding solutions to my problems inspired me to create this website. Here at AcneFYI.com I can share my journey with other acne victims and hopefully help to put an end to their frustrations. I have not found any magic potions and I do not have all the answers but I have had years of experience dealing with acne and testing different anti-acne products. Some products were effective and some products were not effective. This website focuses on the products that have been effective for me during my battle with acne. My journey consists of uncommon acne tips, skin care products, books, related links, and other valuable information located right here for quick and easy access. DETAILS OF MY JOURNEY
I recently saw a new dermatologist and she recommended that I use a Retin-A product and an antibiotic product on my face. For the last several months I have seen tremendous results in my skin. My skin has really cleared up but I still get minimal breakouts during my menstrual cycle which is not unusual. In addition to using these creams on my face in the morning and at night, I continue to wash my face with a benzoyl peroxide cleanser as suggested by my doctor. So far, this has been the most effective anti-acne skin care routine for me. Everyone's skin is different so some people may have better results with a salicylic acid cleansers over a benzoyl peroxide cleanser.
Previously, I used Arbonne’s 'Clear Advantage' anti-acne skin care line to help keep my acne under control. It contains 1% salicylic acid, an effective acne fighter. I also like and have had success using 'Proactiv' skin care which contains benzoyl peroxide.
It does take patience for the existing acne to go away, sometimes weeks but usually months. But wow, once your skin clears up, you're glad you kept your patience in tact.
Money Saving TIP: Sign up as an Arbonne "Preferred Client or "Consultant" and buy all of your products at a discount.
Product TIP: Both Arbonne’s 'Clear Advantage' and 'Proactiv' are gentler than lots of the other brands, they still can be drying, because that’s how they work, but not as bad. They don’t smell like sulfur (rotten eggs). 'Clear Advantage' wonderfully smells of peppermint!
Acne Skin Care TIP # 1: Apply regular, mild soap on your eyelids and neck to prevent those delicate areas from becoming dry and scaly when using any acne wash. This acts as a protective coating.
Acne Skin Care TIP # 2: To help diminish the redness of rosacea, dark spots and acne scarring, apply Clinique's Even Better skin tone corrector. This product does what it says; it has helped to even out my mottled skin tone. I am very impressed with it.
Purchasing or using Arbonne’s 'Clear Advantage' skin care line or 'Proactiv's' skin care line is completely optional. I wanted to mention them because they are wonderful, effective products that I enjoy using. I would feel guilty if I do not share this valuable information with other acne victims.
